Have some questions you'd like answered before you inquire about a photo session? No problem! Below are some of my most commonly asked questions. If you don't see an answer to yours, send me a quick email!
How long are photo sessions?
Lifestyle and family photo sessions are typically 1-1.5 hours, but can be customized to include more time. Wedding packages are either 8 or 10 hours and can also be customized!
What should I wear?
Wear something comfortable that allows you to move around! Flowy skirts and dresses look beautiful, but it is ultimately whatever will allow you to feel your best! Typically I recommend going with neutral colours because they photograph really well - think beige, green, blue, burgundy, etc. If you need some inspiration, check out my photo outfit Pinterest board for some ideas. I also recommend you avoid too much matching (wearing the same pattern, etc.) as it can distract from the photo.
What if I am really awkward in front of a camera?
Every person I have worked with has told me they are awkward, and believe me you are not! The way I run sessions includes lots of movement and prompts so that you won't feel stiff or awkward. I promise we will have tons of fun!
Where can we have photos taken?
Anywhere you like! Parks, coffee shops, your home, and hiking trails are all common choices! Note that certain locations in large cities require permits for an additional cost.
When and how will I receive the images?
All images are delivered digitally via a private link on PicTime. You will be able to view and download all photos from there! Wedding images are delivered within 8 weeks and lifestyle and family sessions are delivered within 4 weeks.
What if I need to re-schedule?
No problem! I understand that life happens and sometimes we need to re-schedule. As long as I am given 24 hours notice I am happy to reschedule. If there is bad weather the day of an outdoor shoot we can also reschedule to another date.
Do you allow pets?
Yes! I love when people bring their pets to photoshoots.. They are a part of your family too and it's so fun to include them in sessions! If you are hoping to also get some images without your pets, I recommend bringing someone who can watch them while you have your photos taken.
Do you charge travel fees?
I charge a travel fee of $0.60 per km for any distance over 50km from Kingston. Travel fees do not apply to Celebration packages booked through Cabinscape.
